I have been thinking for some time now that I want a cast iron bed frame. (Please take note that I am trying very hard not to use the word need too loosely lately. And it is difficult, by the way.) I have always wanted one but am thinking about it more and more lately. The bedroom section of the book Old and New has had me drooling over a selection of cast iron beds ever since I bought it. Reading reviews online hasn't helped me all that much either since everyone seems to be very satisfied with the long-lasting quality of those beds. While they are certainly not the least expensive bed frames out there, they make up for the cost with durability. I spotted this particular bed below at Anthropologie and while I do find it quite charming (particularly the white one), I have my heart set on an antique one.

I know that the photo above is not of a cast iron bed but I wanted to share with you our plans to repaint our bedroom. We will shortly replace our (overused) beige with a nice and crisp white, but the idea of covering the back wall with a deep gray has been floating in my mind for a few months and it just doesn't seem to want to go away. We don't have much to put on our walls in the bedroom for now, and I do not want to commit to wallpaper considering our goal to move across the country in the next year or so, but I really am very tired of this boring, old beige. Any thoughts? I think a gray wall is a great solution and a nice change. To view the specific colour that I have my eye on, click here and check out Steel.
As for the antique cast iron bed frame, I found a website for a store in Ontario that sells nothing but and has been doing so for over 35 years. I am fond of these three, though especially the white one below. It would look faaaabulous in my bedroom. I want it. I want it. I want it. I want it. If you know of any place where I can find one like this (preferably one that costs less than 1250$), please let me know!
